The Korean Food and Drug Administration has announced just this week about the discovery of the excessive amounts of antimony in 13 products originating from the cosmetic manufacturer, Hwasung Cosmetic.

The 13 products in the list are concealers and eyebrow pencils from popular brands like Aritaum, XTM Style Homme, Black Monster, SKEDA, Makeheal, Etude House and 3CE, as well as a Skinfood lip pencil.

The sales of these products have been suspended and publicly ordered a nationwide recall in Korea. Customers who bought the products in Korea will be fully refunded. For those who bought the products from official stores out of Korea can check with the respective brands in their country.

South Korean cosmetic company, AmorePacific, who produces affected brands like Etude House and Aritaum, as well as K-beauty fans favourite Innisfree, and Laneige, responded to the frightful situation with a statement: “We apologize for the incident, we should have put all our focus on quality assurance. We will do our best to prevent similar cases from happening again.”
